Tester - Charity Courses

Understanding Mental Health First Aid course covered a wide range of topics related to mental health first aid, which I found very interesting. It provided resources needed for appropriate self-paced learning, giving me the flexibility and control over the process of completing the assignments, being a great way of keeping up to date on the most recent developments, research, and good practices in this matter.

I was keen to learn about mental health, mental ill health and its causes, and ways in which our mental health can be protected. The course provided a solid introduction to these subjects. More practically I learned about ways to support someone considering ending their life, and methods to ensure a healthy workplace environment. My assigned tutor was very supportive throughout my learning and I would highly recommend this New Challenge course.

I found the New Challenge course useful and informative in supporting people with mental ill-health in the workplace. It made me consider the language used around mental health and the potential barriers for people in reaching out for support. Very grateful to have been forwarded details of New Challenge by National Careers Advisory Service in 2022; following a call with a careers guidance agent. Completed are two courses with Guy Guneri: Information, Advice or Guidance, and Understanding Mental Health First Aid, and Mental Health Advocacy in the Workplace. Guy Guneri engaged closely with feedback throughout both courses via email and telephone when needed and with links and further learning. Final year student and working part-time; the flexibility to complete the courses was respected. Highly recommended this has supported my career aspirations, personal interest, and knowledge base. Guy has also offered careers guidance which I found most helpful.
